Mixed Relay Rules: 

* Maximum of 16 pairs per event

* Countries may submit 2 additional pairs to fill any remaining spots

* Top 12 pairs qualify for the World Cup Final 

* Pairs are made up of men & women from the same country

Fencing: Pairs fence in a round robin, with men fencing men and women fencing women from each opposing team.

Swimming: Pairs swim a 2x100 meter relay.

Riding: Pairs take turns riding a 9 obstacle course.

Combined Run/Shoot: All the pairs points are tallied from the previous 3 disciplines and the pair with the most points starts first. The women from the pairs starts first and completes 2 rounds of the combined event which involves 2 shooting series (hitting the target 5 times) and 2 rounds of 800m running. Once completed, the men do the same, and whoever crosses the finish line first is the winner.
The Pentathlon Mixed Relay consists of one man and one women from the same country competing in tandem.

The Mixed Relay World Cup Series was created as a result of tremendous interest by the pentathletes and media over the last 3 years.

Generous prize money is on offer for the Mixed Relay World Cup Final medal winners.
